Currently, my work
is falling into two categories: landscape and
text.
The landscape pieces take on many forms as far
as the imagery is concerned – lines, abstract
floral fields, physical structures – most
of which are placed in relationship to a strong
horizontal perspective. Graphite and some elements
of color are placed sporadically within perfect
geometric form.
The text pieces are an ongoing investigation for
me. These are abstract visualizations of language,
communication, conversation – like white
snow on the T.V. Language can be informative and
destructive in the same breath. How this plays
out in our everyday lives, situations and discussion
is the basis for these pieces.
Both bodies of work are realized in a visually
minimal manner. I strive to have the pieces broken
down to their bare minimum. I hope this allows
the viewer to enter the work more readily, allowing
for his or her own thoughts and life experience
to be drawn into the work.
As new directions continue to emerge in my work,
communication will remain an underlying theme,
investigation or point to be made.
