A visit to the Rogue Buddha Gallery offers our patrons a rare opportunity to peer into the mind and world of a working artist. All exhibition programming, decor and "items of interest" are based upon the artwork, inspirations and curiosities of gallery owner and artist, Nicholas Harper.
Since 1999 Harper's distinctive taste and voice has offered our guests a vision and visual experience unavailable elsewhere, making the Rogue Buddha not just unique, but truly a one of a kind experience.
The art in Unloved Creatures depicts a wide array of characters that, to the mainstream population, might be considered monsters; hideous, ridiculous, scary, grotesque or deviant.
Here's just some of the tantalizing works of art available now.

Nicholas Harper is an Atelier trained, award-winning artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He refers to his personal artistic style as magical realism and counts Russian and Orthodox Iconography, lliterature and philosophy as among his most significant influences.
Perhaps most well known for his distinctive portraits of women with long necks, Harper refers to these paintings as contemporary icons. In doing so he intends to convey a personal symbology in which the compositions transcend portraiture and become vehicles for allegory and myth building.
Don't just take our word for it.

"This is one of my favorite galleries in Minneapolis. The artworks exhibited here are always intriguing. The themes you'll find mostly exhibited here are baroque, strange, "evil", surrealistic portrait paintings."
