MAKE THE NEXT GREAT EVENT AT THE ROGUE BUDDHA GALLERY... YOURS!
This exhibit features figurative portraiture created mostly within the past year and characterized by Harper’s distinctive style in which he portrays the subject through a lens of magical realism, where long necks and serpentine torsos adorn a subject enshrined within ethereal and atmospheric backdrops.
With a curiosity for iconography, a pursuit of irregular beauty, honoring the spectacular in the ordinary and an ever present awe for the mysterious and occult nature of the soul, a richly ornate vocabulary emerges within Harper's paintings allowing for allegory and metaphor to emerge.
Harper has often said that falling in love with a work of art is like finding a soulmate or rediscovering a part of ones own soul that you didn’t know existed before. We can’t imagine a better time to celebrate the intimate connection between art, beauty and the soul, than this Valentine’s.
Please join us on the last Sunday of each month for thoughtful and often, quite enjoyable, conversations surrounding the many aspects of death. All are welcome and while open discussion is encouraged, no one is obligated to share.
This is a safe space for all, and we expect that respect and grace be shown for all those who come to participate.
We encourage you to follow us on FB at the link above for the most current and up to date event details.
Thank you for joining our list!
